Cousin’s birthdays and a trip to the beach

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

We celebrated Rachael (9) and Cassandra’s (7) birthdays at our place last weekend with entirely too much Hannah Montana, a trip to the park, and Lamppost pizza followed by a good helping of video games.

Temperatures were in the 90s the following day so we decided to spend the afternoon at Pt. Mugu in the sand and (very cold) waves.

ETrain - model railroad simulator

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

Heidi’s uncle Denny is very much into model railroads and has been writing computer games and simulators for awhile. So it comes as no surprise that these two interests should meet in a model railroad simulator written in Flash. I haven’t had time to experiment much with it (we’re leaving for the beach in a few minutes), but it looks like a lot of fun. It’s even possible to save your creations and come back to them later. Very nice, Uncle Denny!

House Update

Good news - it looks like the owners are accepting our offer. However, because it is a short sale the offer still needs to be approved by their lender, which may take a few weeks (we hope).

Here are few more pictures of the property - this time from the front.
